Campaign Overview

Girls and women in developing countries use mud, tree bark, kitchen sponges and dirty rags to manage their period. With $5,000 we can get a 6 month supply of pads to our patient women in Sierra Leone. They've use pads, they don't want to go back.

While we have long term plans for the production of LaunchPad products within Sierra Leone, we have been overwhelmed with requests for more sanitary pads RIGHT NOW.

$30 will ensure one woman has 4 months supply of sanitary pads as well as a place in our menstrual hygiene workshops. We'd love to get 6 months supply of products to 150 women - can you help? Click here to donate $30

The women in our trial program experienced what life was like when they had access to sanitary pads - and they don't want to go back to the old way. This $5,000 will help us give 150 women a supply of affordable sanitary pads for the next 6 months. That is our immediate goal.

Anything short of this will allow us to cater for either a smaller amount of women or for a time frame shorter than 6 months. Our tipping point is $2000. This is the point at which we can provide a minimum level of access to sanitary products.

The key to the long term success of this program is understanding of the product. Introducing sanitary pads into a new market where a majority of the customers have never heard of or seen a sanitary pad before will raise a number of challenges. To combat this, we will be running sensitisation workshops that detail the benefits of using sanitary pads and demonstrations on how to use them. With the initial $2000, we can provide our LaunchPad Champions with marketing training to ensure they can run smaller workshops with women from their communities so as we strengthen the supply of products to the community, this is met with equal market demand for the product.

This particular fundraising campaign is being run with the enthusiasm of Sarah Moran in partnership with One Girl co-founders David Dixon and Chantelle Baxter.
